Bottom bracket bearing removal

I'm just curious if there was ever a tool created to remove the bottom bracket bearing cups on these older bikes. I have always used punch/bar and tapped it out with a hammer, but I find this somewhat crude as you could have also done this for the headset bearing cups, but instead Park tool made tools for that. These bearing cups are not hard to get out, but I thought I would just ask as I definately do not have a special tool fo this.
