ranman

Wore out three sets of tires already!
Not sure exactly what it goes on but I like it. Looks somewhat Shelbyish but the amber lens is confusing me.

In 1941 both Monark and Mercury used a similar light on some of their models but this one is different. V/r Shawn

Thanks Shawn. It’s cool. Had to have it. Not sure yet what I will put it on. Attached are a couple more pics

Some Rollfast bikes also had that style of light but none of the ones I know of have the ribs on the sides or the top like that. I wonder if this was some sort of aftermarket light done in those styles. V/r Shawn

That light is from A 1954+ Shelby bicycle. I have a girls 54 Shelby with the exact same light on it. I’m not entirely sure about the yellow color of that lens. I have seen some clear lenses yellow with age but not that much. It could have?!?. I’ll post a pic of mine Later tonight. That little u clamp is not for that light.
Nice light!!

When Shelby was sold to AMF they moved to Cleveland OH and that’s when you start to see the grooves on the lights as well as the tanks and chain guards. Rear rack too.

Your light is in really good shape compared to mine. [emoji853][emoji106]

Great info izee2 I appreciate the info. I had a 1957 amf built. It was a hodge podge of Shelby, CWC parts after the acquisition by amf. It was a great riding bicycle that came with a torpedo light originally.

Most likely Shelby. The Monarks basically looked very similar, only no grooves on the sides, lens was a touch different as well.
