Cruisin' on my Bluebird
Howdy

Is it safe to push a connecting pin through enough to remove a link or section of chain to then re-attach to another chain to lengthen? Or once a pin is pushed through it's done and will come loose again in the future? We are discussing excellent condition diamond brand chains specifically.

I shortened a NOS diamond chain 1 link too short DOH! on my wife's bike when adding a two speed.

It seems good, but would hate for it to break on her.

Thanks
Chad

I have added links many times with no problem. The only issue may be that the added link will be tight. I grab the chain on either side of the newly installed link and bend the chain side to side a few times. That will make it move freely.
