Here is a '38 Arrow I had. I (gently) used WD-40 and 0000 steel wool followed by a light polish and then a wax. The key is to go slow and just get enough red showing that you can bring it out with the polish.

Can I ask what polish and wax you used on yours?

This was red but faded into a nice orange.I like it better as orange plus its good around Halloween.......

So i see there was a hub,bub about polishing paint on another post. Anyhow, i have had to polish paint out of necessity to match paint on some car projects, also after having to clear over parts, cut the clear and polish the haze out to a shine. I basically use the 3m liquid rubbing compound...
