Finally riding a big boys bike
I am reposting this old Bradway racing bicycle. Please look up the original ad to see the bike before I did anything to it and for more history on William Bradway the builder and owner until his death in 1949. I wanted to ride the bike before it was sold so it was disassembled and cleaned then greased and put back together. After riding it I can tell that things could stand to be tightened and adjusted a little but I will leave that to someone else. Both wooden rims were bad so I replaced them with clad rims and had them trued. The saddle and grips are new. The handlebars were rusty when I got it and upon cleaning them I saw that at some point they had been blued. I lightly reblued them. The back tire is a good Universal single tube. In the pictures it has the front wheel off of my Raleigh as I haven't gotten another tire yet for the front rim (I will leave that to someone else). The date admittedly seems early to me but on the back of the badge was written "1905 Custom Built W T B". Unfortunately when I tried to lightly clean it most of the writing came off.
