Jesse McCauley
McCauley Cycle Works
Ca. 1910 (+/-) badged "The LeFurge" by D.M. LeFurge of Denver, CO
Period advert attached -
Killer early transitional diamond / motor style build
A handful of builds from LeFurge but not many and they are all quite different.
After speaking with a longtime Denver bicycle man and student of local bicycle history I believe LeFurge was purely a jobber and repairman not a builder of bicycles.
Lots of great details on this bike -
-Tiller "motorcycle style" bars with period “BB” upright stem
-Heavy duty motorbike waffle block pedals unmarked
-Semi flat rain gutter fender set with front mud flap relic.
-Atherton coaster and matched hourglass front hub- killer set.
-Matched wood rims with metal reinforcement insert, again a great set of rims.
-Matched York singletube button tread tires
-Matched fabric tape wrapped finger grips
-Interesting fender ornament mount / fender support which attaches by way of the fork crown opening.
-Made In England cast aluminum Ornament
-Original saddle is rough but displays very well on the bike.
$2750 Shipped CONUS OBO to give those midwest guys a chance to bring it back into the fold.
Let me know if you'd like any more photos-
Always open to partial trade conversation via PM-
If we have not dealt before ask a couple random people and chances are you will get a referra
