Can I use a pipe threader to thread a bike fork?

Can I use a much cheaper pipe threader to cut threads into a bike fork’s steer tube instead of buying a bike specific tool for triple the price?

Sure, and with a galvanized T-fitting and a coupla pipes for handlebars, you'll be all set!

The above T would be the only way. Pipe threads are tapered.

You forgot the pipe union, you'll need it so you can straighten the handlebars.

I think your right Shawn. It's a much courser thread. Fork tubes are a fine thread. Razin.

Just go to a bike shop and have them thread it for you. It should cost too much.
