Riding a '38 Autocycle Deluxe
Whilst reading the highly interesting thread on @Jesse McCauley's recent discovery of a very early A,S & Co. "World" bicycle, one of the informative posts by @Blue Streak intrigued me.....
It mentions that Schwinn are to produce a model called the "Chicago".
Does anyone possess one of these bicycles, or have advertising images or photos of the headbadge of these "Chicago" branded machines.
The reason I ask is because some years ago I purchased a 'Hunt hygienic style' saddle that is embossed with the name "Chicago" on both sides.
I am wondering now if perhaps it came from an early A,S & Co. machine originally and I would like to compare the typeface used on the saddle to one of their logos if possible
The saddle is definitely of the right era.
Any thoughts anyone?
I purchased the saddle in France and I've used it on my Rochester ever since.
I'll try and dig out a photo this evening as the Rochester is not at home today.
