Chrome Paramount tandem?

I came across this over the weekend. Looked interesting. Very heavy. Thinking of picking it up for some bling rides with a honey! Opinions?

Are you certain it's a Schwinn Paramount Tandem?

Looks like a "chromed" Schwinn Town and Country to me. Look at the head tube lock nut, and it does not have the twin down tube bars.

It might have been chromed at Schwinn as a aftermarket service repair, which is a service they provided?

Looks to be an updated and chromed Town and Country...unless the dropouts are actually Campagnolo. They are heavy and handle heavily...and the stoker area is a bit cramped. Not great for two-up touring, but for pottering around town, probably not bad. Looks like a nice bike, regardless. (posted at the exact moment the above post went up....great minds...?)

They used forged Huret drop outs on my 1971 Paramount Tandem.

I agree with all of the above comments. The Town and Country was not a good touring design. That bike pictured has a lot of Paramount Tandem parts added to it, but the frame design was all wrong. You cannot fix a frame design by adding more parts.

I am putting my money on it being a Town & Country!

I bought and restored one when I was in my early 20's. I loved it for riding solo down to the Newport peninsula. I'd ride the strand and offered cute girls are ride.

My name for the bike was the "trawler".
