Riding a '38 Autocycle Deluxe
I purchased an old 28" wheel from France a little while ago.
Spokes were shot so I cut the hub out yesterday.
After a little basic scraping I discovered the inscription seen below.
The rim has this nice little brass badge also.......
Any ideas on age anyone? All ideas much appreciated, thanks.

The French site here might help if you ask.... Just use Google translate when you ask. I always submit questions in French and then English as many things can be lost in translation.

These other site might help as well.

Much appreciated @filmonger, I shall look forward to some research tomorrow.
It certainly seems very similar in appearance and size to the 1895 example you posted above.

Thanks for the offer @Jesse McCauley, but not at the moment, lol; but seriously I'd love to see any photos you might have of your example.
Do you have any idea of the axle thread size?
I'm assuming it's metric, but is slightly larger than any of the wheel nuts or papillons that I have.
I have discovered that the rim it was originally attached to was made in Normandy around the turn of the century.
Unusually it has pairs of square holes situated around the rim (in photos below). I think the wheel may have been repurposed at some point in its past before being discovered "dans son jus"
