Cleveland Welding Roadmaster Straight Bar 26" Balloon with Tank ID

This is a photo of my brothers bike from when we were kids in the 1970s. The bike was obviously old when he bought it for delivering newspapers. Wrong front fender light and it had a matching painted ribbed hockey stick style chainguard with clamp on brackets.

Any info on an approximate year is appreciated.

I'd guess 54 and down post-war bike. Check the serial on the crank housing and post pic up here, we can confirm date. Will probably have a CWC symbol stamped there with the year next to it though.

The bike is long gone. Trying to date it from the photo and hopefully the paint scheme will help. From memory it had the Roadmaster checkered background badge.

I would guess roadmaster by the sprocket, so that seems right.

What year they switched from a hole to a notch for the rack mount will narrow it down, early-mid 50’s?
