Appreciate the feedback but I was going off my friend (Dave Marzen) who restores them for me. I think he was thinking 40’s because of skiptooth. Why are you thinking 50’s?

Classic Cool Rides

Wore out three sets of tires already!
On the subject of the Green '40's/'50's Columbia 5 Star in Kevin's listing ... I have a picture (below) of how the Columbia (originally a Girls bike) looked when I acquired it a couple years ago. Aside from the (replaced by original owner) Rocket Ray light and Messinger saddle you see in the picture below... this was a well kept Girls Columbia with mostly OEM parts, and I can not recall if it had a Rear-Exiting wheel dropout on the back. The bike was in very rideable condition when it was purchased as a girls bike. I then found a decent Boys frame and vintage tank and converted it to what you see now... In Kevin's listing above...
The front wheel is equipped with a "forward Brake" in the hub and STILL works with the Factory installed brake cable. Both the girls frame and this boys frame have the famous Columbia Built-in kickstand. The wheels run very straight and true using the original Lobdell drop-center rims. I hope this helps clear-up a little bit what is going -on with this bike. Cheers! CCR Dave
