Picked this up yesterday can’t seem to find much in the archives for a “ Columbia Airider Special? Haven’t cleaned it and I know it’s been stored for some time! All the brightwork is real nice and the paint speaks for itself. Has a “F” serial number beginning with 1942 has the original rack and a crazy basket. Anyone has any info I do appreciate it. Thanks..

I absolutely love your bike. The colors are very vibrant. To me, the painted braces says wartime era. Usually those braces would be raw steel looking. Either way, that's a great bike. So what's your plans for the bike? To ride it or just decoration? I wouldn't bother cleaning it if you're planning on reselling it? Leave that to the new owner. Everyone takes a detailing job differently. Some just wipe and go, some do a full disassemble and clean and polish, etc..

Yea the thought of shipping this isn’t very appealing to me. If you’re interested in this bike or the other Westfield Columbia spitfire I have I can send you pics of that one. It doesn’t have a tank but I bought a tank like the black one listed in hopes of adding it but without painting it it would look odd with a black tank since the bike is a maroon color. The other bike is almost as nice as this one. I was thinking of waiting until the Trexeltown swap in May of this year and taking all the prewar era bikes I have to sell. I have a late 30’s early 40’s Schwinn and a Ridewell mens bike so I have enough to make it worth the trip with a few girls bike also. Let me know ….

If you are selling either put a price on it and list in for sale or run it in DOND. Sounds like your fishing here.
