morton

I live for the CABE
I've been looking for one these for a long time. And even though I can't ride any more, I want to see it lit...at lease 1 time, so tell me what o do to avoid being the last scene in a Finial Destination movie.

1. Get carbide There are a number of places I can think of but don't hesitate to suggest your favorite source and composition.
2. Bottom looks good. Assume I put carbide on tube with the section with holes at the bottom
3. attach bottom to lamp, unscrew vent/plug at top and "install" water.....How much?
4. I have no idea what to do next so here come the questions
a. The front tube that goes to the burner appears to have something inside I assume it is clogged & I should clear out
b. Also clear the water tube
c. I cleaned up the burner and noticed nasty looking crack in the base. I believe at one time I saw some type of sealer that was used on old cast iron stoves stoves....or maybe it was JB weld. Does the base need to be fixed before I light up and what should I use?

Advice from you TOC riders and other exerts appreciated.

Upon looking at the pix closer, I think I got took for a ride & the tubes should have an adjuster and all I have ia 1 empty water tube, i rusted carbide with remains of the adjuster inside, and my best bet is to make a lamp out of it.

Please excuse if iidon't answer for a while having a arkinsons attack.....cant type

I can't help, these were before my time, but what does your title refer to? Is "Solar" the brand of the lamp?
