Riding a '38 Autocycle Deluxe
Not sure if "convoluted" would be a close-enough word for the metal bending or folding method used, on what I believe are Crescent chain ring sprockets, for examples (see pictures) :
The question that I have, is about cleaning out the "black-stuff" under the bend or fold on such sprockets - is the substance just dirt and old grease; or was it designed as a absorbent porous material used for a chain self-oiling feature?
