Porkchop & Applesauce

I live for the CABE
Good evening Caber’s!
Ended up doing a clean up on it. Then the crank bearings. Sorry Eddie but the boiled linseed oil looked to good to leave it alone. Also knocked a bunch of the dents outta the fenders and fixed the one oddball rear fender bracket that went to the wheel. Gotta see if I can dig up some cream colored grips too. Like it was when it was stolen

Two Wheeler

Finally riding a big boys bike
Good morning Caber’s!
My buddy @jesus throughs an Easter celebration every year for his very large family. His love for his family and early postwar balloon tire Schwinn’s comes together on Easter. He’s collected a ton of these bike’s so that every Easter everyone can jump on a bike and ride them downtown for an ice cream! This year he invited us to join them. What a fun afternoon it was! While we were there one of his girls bikes caught my eye because it had a panther chain gaurd and some remaining paint that suggested it was an early girls phantom to me. So once we got home I googled it to learn more about these. I learned that Schwinn did make girls panther’s and that this bike was probably a legit 1951 panther! As I looked through photos of those panthers I came across a photo of his bike! When I opened the page I discovered that this bike he had bought 2-3 years ago had been stolen 5 years ago! I informed him right away. He was shocked to learn that he had a bike that was stolen! He checked the bike out closely and verified that it was indeed the bike that had been stolen and contacted the owner right away. The lady that owned the bike had it since she was 10 years old it was given to her by her father. She had owned it for over 50 years when it was stolen! Her coworkers made this posting to find her bike for her and are even going to reimburse Jesus for the money he spent on it! WOW! Jesus doesn’t even care about the money and is so stoked to be able to have an opportunity to return a bike with that much sentimental value! The story is still unfolding so I’ll update as it comes up! So blessed to be apart of this happy reunion!

Does your friend remember where he got the bike so that the thief might be tracked down?
