Wore out three sets of tires already!
Just finished rehabbing this Typhoon. I am wondering if it has the correct stem. Did they use that rolled type of stem with the open seam in the front? Thought it would be different

Lowest priced 26" bike Schwinn made, so it came with that wonderful stem. I'm surprised they had the built in kickstand.
 
Hollywoods had them too, Tornados, Skippers, etc.

The Tigers, Spitfires and Hornets were also adorned with this wonder piece. It was around 1953 when these became the "favorite" stem and around this time Schwinn also went backwards with a bolted on kickstand on some of their models. Never hurts the value to upgrade the stem.
