bicycle collecting has ruin my life ........... i,am not home right now ........... going looking for more bicycle,s
I don't see a problem ; other than the ones in the middle being hard to access.

Just read this thread . Funny you be talikn' bout the old straight bar frame. I picked one up SIGHT UNSEEN from a local guy. $100.00 for the WHOLE Bike. I did not question the price , as long as it really was a Schwinn Straight Bar. Luckily it WAS ! I have a ways to go...............but I'm gonna persevere. I love the look of them there Straight Bar Frames . Please , don't laugh................it is what it is . You CAN Find good deals out there . Ride Safe Buddy !

Sounds like this one is getting a real nice new lease on life.

There is so much gee whiz when it comes to these old bike builds. I now have a sweetheart chain ring that likely won't work with my current Colson build. Luckily it was cheap cause I would be pissed if i paid 30 and 10 shipping for it. The ichibike cogs need filled down or the sharp edges would tear up your skiptooth chain.... You can't just file down every other tooth on a modern rear cog or it's also bad for your chain. Skiptooth master links are different from modern. Modern goosenecks do not fit in old bikes very well. Chains NEED to be aligned or things could break. Some things you can learn on your own but it sure is nice to have a local knowledgeable friend to help you avoid costly mistakes. Gotta thank @Mrmonkeyarms for his continued support. I'm kinda glad my one of my first bikes.... The Colson... Was a build. I've learned a lot vs. Just buying a complete bike and sprucing it up. Luckily i haven't screwed up too bad and I notice things when they seem wrong. Even buying a bad frame didn't turn out so bad thanks to @rustjunkie helping me out with a replacement frame. I'm not used to having internet friends but I couldn't have stumbled upon a better group of guys than those on the cabe. Really enjoying this old bike stuff after 9 months in. My wallet may be a bit thinner but my stable has never looked cooler.
