Crazy old Seat.. Messinger 1896! Pics

I traded one of my bikes for a bunch of old parts for future projects. One of the seats was a old wood/wicker Messinger seat pat 7-23-1895 to 7-24-1896. I'd love to see what it looked like back then. I don't know weather to keep it and put it on a shelf or on e-bay. Does anyone have a guess on the value. If anyone knows anything else about it please let me know.

I have a 1890's Rambler tandem that has seats with a simular construction. They also have padding and leather over the wicker.
