Cruisin' on my Bluebird
I bought this and picked it up yesterday. It is a project just to get it up and running again.

There is a stamping with a Patent date on the L side crank arm but the date is obscured and the makers mark on the top line looks double stamped.

Could it read -

"FAUBER PATENT _ _ _ _ _"?

Nice bike.
Patent 492,959 for “Velocipede” was granted on March 7, 1893; (applied for July 18,1892); however, William H. Fauber apparently would not produce until 1895, when the workability problems were resolved, by other patented designs; (see 1895-1900 patent 643,349).

The “3-Arm” chain ring sprocket design was patented as a “Sprocket Wheel for Bicycles” about mid-1899, but the variant seen above is different (see drive pin location), which means later than ToC.

love that paint color, looks like "french gray"
if would be awesome if someone had a "modern" paint code for it, I would definitively use it on a project
