Finally riding a big boys bike
The Trek 850 is my first bike purchased new in 1989. Virtually unridden the past 15 years and written off as DNR in my crawl space. In April 2022 I re-entered cycling with that 2022 Univega 29” Hardtail. A couple of months later I upgraded to the Giant Stance 29” Full Suspension. Meanwhile, with a little elbow grease, I brought that Trek back to life converting it into a hybrid/comfort bike of sorts adding pannier racks, 5” rise bars, bells and whistles. During the summer of ‘22 I found that yellow Schwinn (‘87?) which was black and repainted shortly after. Built that crate with wood scraps, and added the apes. Next was that red 90’’s 7sp Schwinn Riverside which I also repainted, built that crate, replaced seat, pedals, and misc components. Next find was that Roadmaster which is believed to be a ‘47/‘48 which I repainted (pretty much rebuilt found in rough shape). Then the Rollfast a week ago which is believed to be early 60’s. All of the above are a work in progress and ridden regularly!!! Not pictured is a Huffy parts bike that I’m planning to build a klunker with at some point.
