Many years ago their was a tank half that Castelli owned it was sent to Keith Dean to have the other half made i had bought the bike n a large trade but the tank had never been finished i ended up never getting it. I believe it was sold to Phil Marshall in Seattle i saw the ones made from the Bernie Bounce bike Chuck Rosa had made ...... I compared them to the two original tanks i had for bikes Chucks were pretty spot on but they were made from a press die this if hand pounded with hammer is one hell of a job cannt even imagine the process ..... maybe a half a tank can be made for that bike after all ...... now how does this effect the value of the original .... the last original moving for over $20k i got $25k for my burgandy a girls matching original and $5k for a set of original apple core badges and literature. I once loaned one to be sent along with 38 BB tank to china but they never got produced was surprised to get my original back . The ten tanks made from the Bounce bike or whatever tank they used sokd for $3500 each. Jim probabely is getting $2 an hour at his asking price this might be the best chance to build a 37 RMS the question is now is this bike still the Holy Grail of our hobby?
