CWC Road Master Front Hub help

Just looking for some info on this front hub. Came off what I believe to a 40-41 CWC Road Master. Can’t tell what it is, maybe cause the markings are covered in rust which I plan on keeping! Maybe I can make out faint letters of “departure” but not positive. Also, with the skinnier neck, this hub looks different that other New Departure hubs... Is this possibly the original hub or a replacement? Last question, I have Shockmaster forks with the round vs. slotted axle holes - this axle at 5-1/2” long won’t fit. Should I just cut the axle or be looking for a different hub and axle all together?

Honestly, this is what I was thinking...makes me even wonder if the rims are original? I will look for the correct hub. Thanks for your information.

That's is good advice. What Schwinn script hub are you referring to, apologies here for my lack of knowledge. Her are few pics of the bike when found by the guy I bought it from and now in a pile of parts awaiting the rebuild. The front wheel and forks were once together...
