Jesse McCauley

McCauley Cycle Works
This crusty ol’ bird poked it’s head out at Memory Lane briefly a couple weeks ago but once I got her home and cleaned up a bit some of the surviving detail has held on.

Originally blue with a red head and gold pins, just enough is there to imagine it.

Correct Davis hardware throughout:
-Shallow fenders with distinct “button” behind fork crown.
-4 sided window drop stand & long clip
—Distinct fender stays I have not seen elsewhere
-3 3/4” block Ideal pedals
-ND Hub Model A & M hub-set laced to original blue painted wood rims
-Killer original Troxel saddle & shorty bull dog grips still holding on there.
- Crusty set of white Vitalics to top it off!

I cleaned without much force as I was afraid I would lose what was there but after getting a good drink of oil the bike seemed much healthier.

Green traces in the Speedway Special badge I take to be original enamel.

Always love sharing a beautiful bicycle time capsule, even a slightly crusty one.
Anyone have another example of a similar bike that may have a slightly better surviving paint scheme to show us?
