Does the serial number coincide with Excelsior ? d= april and 2 means 1922 ? tommy

I believe that the prefix letter “D” would indicate the year, sometime in the middle 1920’s.

Differences in later 1920’s may have been the replacement of the yoke truss rods with two separate rods. An earlier change may have been replacing the bottle cap badges with those attached by screw fasteners.

Excelsior may have been bankrupt about 1930, (or late 1929?).
