December-built Sting-Rays...

-
Not as interesting as an early Stingray but while dating my first year offered 75 Scambler it showed MK. Schwinn Chicago for 75 format is 2 letters so MK is Dec.1974. I will have to keep an eye out for earlier dates.

Thanks Chris - same for J33 then too?
This ^^^ is a different story.
No Super Deluxe Stingrays with the Solo Polo seat, but a J33, yes.

Interesting read from the Aug. 64 Schwinn Reporter.
It seems in late ‘64 you could get a Standard Stingray J38 with the Solo Polo and square back strut with the Springer = (J33).

I have seen several photos over they years of Original bikes that support this. Below is an L4 Lime with heavy forks knocks that sold recently in 2022.

Thanks for this great info Chris - settles the score here

So on the L4 Lime you shared, if this is a J33 did someone add the fenders? thanks

Michael,
Yes it looks like someone added the fenders.
I’ve arrowed the screws on both fenders that points to a modification.

Awesome Chris, thanks for clarifying and again for putting this one to bed! Updating my records and you are once again cited as the source:)

I wish I had a collection of the Reporters, what awesome resources they are - looks like you may have the full library? When did they start and end? Has anyone reproduced or copied these? I'd certainly pay for a set, would be an amazing addition to the collection

The Schwinn Reporters, plus the Factory Schwinn bicycle and parts books are one of my prized possessions.

The big black 3 ring binder holds a complete set (63-66) of the reporters.
Also have most of 1967.
