Delta Silver Ray Questions

I recently got this glass lens Silver Ray headlight on a bicycle. Brass side screws look new or nos. Are they generally correct or would they have been plated? Second question is there any good reason for the hole and screw in the top? Was this done at the factory ever and what for?

They are usually cad plated. The hole in the top is wrong. It should not be there.

Thanks Ed. Are the size and shape of the screws I have generally correct? They fit and thread smoothly.

I would replace the brass with SS and buff them. They would be nearly indistinguishable from chrome.
