Does a boxful of Chains = Scrap Metal?

Opened another box (smallish) and it was full of bike chains. Purusing eBay seems to indicate that if any were skip tooth chains they might be worth something but none of these are. Granted they are old but they seem to be just run of the mill chains. As the title says: do I have a load of scrap metal? Thanks.

The price of scrap metal is equivalent to card board. If you can get a couple of bucks per chain, thats better than the recycle yard will pay for scrap.
