Unfortunately, These are not that nice and not worth that much money to me.
I was lucky to find NOS SB.
I put them on my 36 CC…. yes I had to edit it. Somebody called me and said I was sounding like I was being mean lol
I love your commander by the way

Were SB the correct tires for these? I always thought the US checkerboards were what came on these?

It’s a matter of preference in my humble opinion of what tires you choose to use. Tires on bikes that ARE ridden are consumables that will need to be replaced sometime with normal wear and tear. So eventually you will replace them and not necessarily with the same model or brand. The sidewalls of these snake bellies are quite eye catching !
The “ catalog preachers “ have their merits in touting what’s “ correct “ for their bikes or restorations. Use whatever you want but try to be in the ballpark of that bike’s era.
My preference for Prewar Schwinns is to use blackwalls. Whitewalls on the Deluxe Schwinns are for the “ catalog preachers” thumping their um, catalogs ! Lol

I'm with yah on the black walls. The "look" is all a personal preference. I love white walls, just not on my own bicycles.

I never said it wasn't a matter of preference simply trying to clear the air on what was correct. I do not run catalog correct tires on many of my bikes and prefer to use John's Chain Treads. After having two vintage tires blow out on fairly expensive bikes I decided it wasn't worth it. If I'm showing a bike at Monroe that's a different story.

Makes me wonder why Coker doesn't get back into the balloon tire game.
