I live for the CABE
Deal or No Deal.
Presented here for auction is a fairly uncommon early Teens Sears Master/Chief 28" metal lined crescent wood rim with Peerless armless coaster brake hub. Wheel spins nice and straight. As found on early deluxe Davis-built Sears bicycles like the Chief and Master, the metal lining was designed to strengthen the rim and aid in keeping the wheel in line. Rim features significant paint loss but vestiges of the original silver (aluminum) paint and pinstriping do still remain. The Peerless armless coaster brake shines beautifully with amazing original nickel and sports an 18-tooth 1/2" pitch sprocket. Upon cleaning out the caked grease I discovered that 3 spoke holes in a row had cracked (final wheel picture) although the spokes are still holding in place. So whether it's your intent to use this wheel as it stands, or break it down, paint the rim and lace in a Sturmey Archer three-speed hub to make your early Chief factory correct, this is a unique opportunity to grab a very uncommon wheel. Thank you for your interest and good luck.
Offer plus actual shipping in the US. Payment via PayPal family and friends is preferred.
Please review pictures closely and message me with any questions.
