Can you identify what these things are? I’ve had them for 40 years and don’t remember, or never knew, what they are for. The little wheels rotate.

Could they be for forcing singletube tires or solid tires from rims? There are two sizes.
Yes it’s a tatting shuttle. A tool for making lace from thread.

I did spend some time looking at tatting shuttles and even watched youtube videos on the tatting process. I don't see how these doodads could be tatting shuttles. All the tatting shuttles I see have some mechanism for holding thread, my devices don't appear to have any way to do that. Plus, none of the tatting shuttles I saw have the little wheels that my devices have. So, I'm still perplexed.
I've added a few more pics in case anyone is still interested.
