El Hefe Grande

Finally riding a big boys bike
"Double Dog Leg Cranks"

Can anyone tell me more about these cranks?

They have a dog leg on each side...

I haven't been able to find anything out about them or have seen any early Prewar bikes with these on them...

I hope that someone can shed some light on what these might have come off of...

They have an "AS 36" stamped on them with no other markings.

They measure about 7 1/4" from the center line to the middle of the crank.

The other crank in the comparison image is a "A 502" from 1937.

Thank you for any help that you can provide...

Jerry

I had a mead ranger pass through my hands with the same crank, but can't say for sure it was original although the bike was original according to the person I got it from.

Whizzer Cranks

Well, This makes sense...

So these were bent (adapted) to clear the exhaust and belt assembly from the Whizzer conversion dealer / distributor?

Hmm....

Thank you for your answers.

Wouldn't being bent like that make one side of the bike have a smaller diameter pedal circle than the other side? I would think it would be cast like that so the throw on each side would be the same.
