Dropstands or side stands. Your thoughts?

just thought I'd throw this out there to see what y'all prefer. My bikes are about half and half, what's your take?

Cool factor goes to the dropstand but they were replaced for a reason...lol. I prefer fasion or funtion so my vote is for the dropstand

I like drop stands on the bikes that came with them originally. And I like side stands on the bikes that came with them originally.

I prefer whatever was original to the bike. That said, a proper kickstand is far better than a drop stand for keeping a bike upright. V/r Shawn

Good to know you guys feel the same as I do, was curious though. Dropstands can be a pain in the ass on grass or uneven surfaces, but otherwise they just represent that time period. Seems if I get a bike that should have had a dropstand, especially if it has ears on the frame for one, than if must have one. Thanks for your input!

I also like whatever is original to the bike. Only one in my personal collection has a drop stand. I really like it. However, it is a pain in the ass when the ground isn't perfect. I think drop stands make it easier when working on the bike

After going on the Rolling Relics ride in SF. The wind was brutal on the drop stand bikes. Timber....then the metal meets cement sound.Yikes!!!! Side stand for the win.....d.

I hope not too! Didn't see anything more then a few scuffed grips maybe a scratch or two....which just adds to the patina.

Like most here I like having the original equipment on my bikes. That being said, I love drop stands for indoors display and storage of bikes. The bikes stand upright and I can fit more bikes side by side by alternating direction to make room for the handlebars.
