Members of the "Trouble Department" used these machines to ride to customers, of Southern California Edison, Los Angeles, in 1913. The electricians helped people when electricity was new, and difficult to understand.
Workers gathered in the alley, near Edison's main office, 120 E. 4th St., Los Angeles, for photographer G. Haven Bishop (1879-1972). He was hired by Edison for promotional photos.
