I have an 'Eadie' 2-speed coaster brake hub on my circa 1905 'Prefer'.
I believe these were in production from 1902 onwards, but I could be wrong......

...here is the hub as fitted to the 'Prefer'.....

...it is incredibly quiet in use and the gear reduction is very useful.
Interestingly, and befitting a French bicycle, the inboard face of the torque arm mentions that it was made under licence in France.
Somewhere in the literature pertaining to this hub it mentions that I also need a light 'spermaceti' lubricating oil; anyone got a spare Sperm Whale to hand?
