Riding my '38 Deluxe Bluebird
Got this bike in recently, has a few coats of blue barn paint, but believe it is original red (can see some peeks of it), S/N is C05125, looks like it is a '46 or '47, but waiting on confirmation from REC (is too early for the known database).
Bike was missing a lot of parts, but these 3 look og. Do have the fenders, with wrong braces, and no hole on top for a light, but someone local *may* take those so didn't post pics. *Feel free to inquire on fenders if wanting the whole deal as a package.
Frame includes Planes and Trains badge in pretty good condition. Looks like someone used some heat by the headtube, probably to get top nut off, but no damage to frame or badge. Frame does have a crimp on seat stay right behind fender brace. Also can see brass brazing underneath at seat tube and connecting bars when you turn frame upside down, it looks factory to me as I can see og paint right around there too, but I noted it just for the sake of full disclosure (see pics).
Springer is non-locking. Looks straight, AS bolts, threads good, paint on most of chrome but looks pretty decent where it's chipped off, I'm sure it's not mint tho. Spring has some rust and paint, legs looks good, no crimps or dents, bushing looks pretty good....
Big feather guard looks straight. Someone used some solid putty or glue on back side to keep the bracket from moving, typical for that rivet to loosen up. I believe I have the original screws for it, but don't count on that just yet...
