Early Postwar Schwinn tandem

Can’t really see the serial number, but thinking it might be 46-48 with the tapered kickstand. This thing is loaded with goodies too...pork chop brakes, double adjustable stem. Would appreciate any info you can provide.

Looks like a early post war virgin. Only thing I can tell that was changed out is the grips. Sure would be nice if that number was clearly visible. I've seen some early tandems that actually had the TO serials that I believe went close to the end of the Town and Country production. Serials were on the rear bottom bracket and I assume that number is also looking at the bottom edge of the rear fender. Next to that glob of metal that looks kinda like badly botched up letter A is a 7. Thought it was a T but the vertical line looks slanted and most likely a 7. That is one crappy stamping but you're real close on the model year! :eek:
