Here we have a Very Rare Early Schwinn Paramount Track Bike. Built by Emil and Oscar Wastyn, these early Paramount racers were the result of Frank Schwinn’s obsession with building World Class bikes for the Six Day races of the 1930s. They utilized the highest strength Chrome-Molybdenum seamless tubing, keyhole lugs, silver-soldered to retain tubing strength, and the finest components Schwinn could produce, including the finely machined high-flange “phone dial” hubs for strength and weight reduction. Incredibly light, for an all steel bike, even by today’s standards. This original paint bike retains all of the original Schwinn decals and meticulous double box pin stripes, in red and green. Featuring the early ball-end seat stays, Schwinn’s Adjustable Racing stem, the Paramount stamped three piece crank, Brooks B17 saddle, and the original super light beechwood rims, these early Paramounts were truly works of art ! Please check out the photos carefully, as they tell the whole story.
