Historical collection for sale for either the bicycle collector or the Indian motorcycle collector. $6500.00 for everything. Located in Nashua, NH this is from the Ed A. Nelson estate.

In 1896, the Hendee & Nelson Manufacturing Company at 478 Main Street in Springfield, Massachusetts was building safety bicycles under the names Silver King for men and Silver Queen for women

Very elaborate all original late 1800’s silverplate cycling trophy (bicycle). In addition to the great detailing all around, it has wonderful engraving of a cyclist racing on the front and best of all is the cyclist in period riding garb standing next to his safety cycle, which is highly detailed, mounted on the removable cover. Base of trophy reads “Rogers & Bro. Triple Plate” with 400 and has a paper label reading “This article is enamel finished, which prevents tarnishing, and should be cleaned only with duster or damp cloth.”. Rogers & Bro probably were not thinking about over 100 years later when they added that label as it does show some tarnish. I have not tried cleaning or polishing. Base measures 4 1/8” across and has small edge ding. Cup opening is 4 1/9” across and handles are 8 5/8” across at widest point. The cyclist stands 3 ½” tall and highest point on bicycle is 2 7/8”. Overall height is 14”. Blank circle on one side matches the one with the engraving on the other side and each measures 2 ¼” across. There is a small bend on the bicycles handlebar but will perhaps be able to be bent back up even with other side with some hot water or? Very cool and very original and second hand story was Hendee gave it to Nelson when they were partners.

Rare late 1800’s bicycle related (competition, supporters or sponsors and bicycle brand or manufacturers) silk ribbons hand sewn display quilt. It measures 48 ½” x 63 ½” and has many (at least 49)

all original ribbons sewn together during that time as a tribute. Some of them are:
