I found this Elgin bike at an estate sale. It appears to be a ‘30s ladies bike. It has “The Special LHR Balloon Tyres” and a spring seat with crash guard. It appears to have been partially painted with a rattle can. What can you tell me about it and it’s value? Does the chain guard appear original? Thanks!

Westfield built. I'd say the seat, fenders, and chainguard are all replaced. Possibly the neck and bars as well. Value...$50 as a bike, more in parts.

I’m not seeing a curved seat tube. Not a lot of collector value as stated above. I agree with replaced parts

The curved piece part is the seat post, which fits inside the seat tube or mast.
Like yoof said, Westfield; the others’ bikes are Murray Ohio built.
