Finally riding a big boys bike
This is probably a dumb question but I’ll ask it anyway.
I’m putting together an Elgin Robin that is a collection of parts from many different sources. The fork, front fender and frame are all from different bicycles. It seems to me that the front fork should have a threaded hole in it for a fastener to secure the fender to it. The fender has a reinforced hole in that seems like a fastener should go through it into the fork. That seems to be very common on other brands I’m more familiar with.
There is a hole in this fork but it’s pretty big and I don’t believe there are any threads in it. I’ve tried several sizes from 1/4”-3/8”- nothing feels like it catches any threads. Is it possible someone stripped this out badly? Or did it never have threads in it? Am I missing something?
Thanks.
