Elgin Oriole project

-

Marc's Classic Chrome

Finally riding a big boys bike
I secured my first Oriole and I am pretty excited about it. It was for sale on the cabe and I am going to find the parts as I go. I found some nice original two bar handlesbars so it is coming along.

What are your thoughts on the color? Leave it? Paint it? Obviously it was repainted.

Some Elgin lines the same color as the headbadge along the top tube might look cool.

The paint on the bike is presently a nice "Bluebird" color. Red stripes on the top tube might look even cooler. They certainly would jump out more.
The headbadge a nice "aqua" is similar in shade to the excellent quality marine break drum grease which appears to have been used to grease the bearings through the zerk fittings.
I would keep the paint as is, add some stripes and put my energy into tracking down the correct fenders and saddle ($) and getting it rolling...
