English President bike!

Just want to share this cool bike with everyone, and if aby one knows anything about it that would also be nice. The bike is a 1950's/1960's ladies President bike made in Egland!

IIRC the President marque belonged to a U.S. chainstore as a house brand

can't quite pull it up from rusty memory thinking it may have been Montgomery Ward

you should be able to get a specific date from the marking on the SA rear hub shell

a photo of the serial showing its placement should help readers to identify the manufacturer

appears to be constructed with lots of Brampton bits: headset, lugs, bottom bracket shell, etc.

this pattern of cycle frame is termed a berceau

looks to hail from the late 1950's

they were an importer/distributor of cycles and not a manufacturer

bicycles bearing the marque were produced in various nations

German example -

Sold - Girls tank bike President | Archive (sold or withdrawn)

Really nice girls blue tank bank badged President. Neat bike with front and rear racks, three-piece bottom bracket, rusty chrome fenders, all original equipment. 24 inch wheels with new tires and tubes and rides great $100 local pick up fountain Valley California Sold with out a BUMP:)

I am looking to see if anyone has any information about this what I believe is a 1950s possibly older Scheuer Aristocrat I have not gotten a chance to look at the bike up close to get a serial number . I would assume that it is an imported bike due to the pedals but I have not seen one like it...

I took this bike for a spin yesterday and it rides nice, have to adjust the front fender a bit as it rubs a little, but other than that is its a unique enjoyable ride that got a few thumbs up and "cool bike"s.

during the 1960's Scheuer began sourcing product from manufacturers in Japan

one producer from who they sourced cycles by the early 1970s was Bridgestone

Hello CABErs,

First post here. I stumbled across an old President model similar to the one posted above but way rattier. The badge notes that is a Scheuer design manufactured by Batavus in Holland. I spent a few hours cleaning it up and replacing a tube, but otherwise it is I found it. Is there any reason not to scrap it?
