Excelsior / Black phantom

Found a bike junkin a few years ago and I am debating on a project to do ... the candidate bike is an excelsior badged springer ... it has been repainted but you can see black phantom on chain guard ... was there an excelsior badged black phantom ever ??

Yes, They had all kinds of different badges on them depending on who sold them.

Schwinn owned the Excelsior Henderson Motorcycle Company and used the names on their bikes from the 1920's up into the 1950's.
