Up for sale is my 1970 Schwinn Stingray 5-speed. I bought this bike a few years back to add to my small collection. I have enjoyed the years of ownership, but now it is time to let go.
I am a bike enthusiast, but definitely not a bike expert and would be happy to answer question to a prospective buyer.
The paint on the bike is original. With the exception of some paint scratches on the left cantilever bar near the axle flange, the bike exhibits very minimal chips.
Overall, the bike needs a good clean-up and greasing.
The chrome is in extremely nice condition.
Note in the photos that there are no scratches on the tops of the handlebar nor the top of the seat loop.
The tires appear original. The rear is large letter Stingray Slik and I have attached the tire date code.
The front is your typical Westwind…both tires: Made in USA.
The pedal are original and I believe the cables (gray in color) are original as well.
The left side seat has a horizontal mark in the seat as you see in one photo. I used a vinegar and water solution as you will see in the following photo where the mark started to come off.
Should you have further questions, please ask.
Available by pickup only.
Thanks for looking.
