Up for sale is a stalled-out project started and abandoned some 1-2 years ago.
This started as a 1975 Schwinn Standard Coaster in poor paint condition.
My friend who owns a body shop, stripped these components to bare metal.
The small nicks and irregularities were repaired. The components were shot with self-etching primer and sanded.
A late General Motors tint coat color called Cajun Red was laid down and followed up with multiple coats of clear. Micro-sanding was performed between coat to produce a “baby-ass” smooth finish.
The photos do not give justice to the color-depth and glass-smooth clear finish.
Please be advised that this paint work was not an attempt to replicate a factory Schwinn finish.
Removing a factory finish is sometimes seen as taboo, but the paint finish was in very, very poor condition both in wear, exposure and use.
This could be the start-up of an interesting project where I left off or the start of a nice lowrider build.
The frame included freshly rechromed head bearing and pedal bearing cups plus a freshly chromed kick stand.
Some minor paint chipping occured during the kickstand installation around the opening of the kickstand barrel and has been brush/touched with the paint stick included.
Shipping to the inland 48 US States (No AK, HI or PR).
Considering Offers plus shipping.
