Finally riding a big boys bike
Offering For Sale or Trade this Oct '63 Sting Ray w/ all (minus peds) upgraded component parts - Paint it your fav color + reassemble for your mancave or summer fun??
The K3 frame is solid + was originally coppertone. Still has the original 10-3 dated forks + chainguard. Including a clean 8-63 crank/sprocket w/ '63 Schwinn "heart" stamped hardware. A clean, fresh headset is included + also has the '63 Schwinn "heart" stampings. Like new non Chicago headbadge, like new fork crown ,like new seatpost + clamp, like new Union chain + rechromed kickstand also included.
Beautifully recovered Persons polo w/ new grommets + correct new rear tag provided.
The Persons non crimp sissy bar has bright, shiny chrome + 95% scratch free. Does have "Persons" + light "Pat Pending" stamps. Unfortunately, someone drilled a tiny (13/64) hole on each leg directly above center axle mount hole. Expect using a larger diameter washer at assembly ,could cover the hole? No structural compromise from drilled hole!
Early straight knurl handlebars are also 95% scratch free beauties. They do have the dreaded TINY corrosion DOTS throughout though. Great rechrome candidate should they bug you? Awesome non "Max Height" stem w/ rechromed hardware + never mounted white chubs included.
The Schwinn S2 (36) + S7 are both center stamped w/ bright/shiny chrome + stainless spokes. Each has the correct hub , spins true + no rust. There are a couple minor dings (mostly kickstand side) on each. HTF wheels in any condition + these still look great!
The Schwinn tires are not correctly dated. I only found one small (2") crack in each + w/ the new tubes, I'd be fine riding my phat butt on 'em.
Overall a VERY sharp lookin pair of wheels/tires that could only look better w/ lil tire dressing.
Plenty of HTF parts in various nice/great condition have been accumulated to restore this bike. Obviously saves potential buyer the hassle of searching for these parts. Naturally these don't come cheap, so need $2350 plus ship on the complete package. Please message me directly w/ any questions or needing more pics.
