OP may not have the possibility of in-person pick up so cash would be out. In that scenario you could PayPal as Goods and Services and have Buyer's Protection if the seller does not complete or the item is not as described. There is a small charge for this about %3.
A way to weed out scammers. Ask for more pics. Then usually you can tell if they really have the item. I’d go PayPal with goods and services like Krakatoa said above. Then you have some coverage if it goes south. Good luck!
