Wore out three sets of tires already!
I think I'm safe from the Rickenbacker gestapo here. Up for sale is one FAKE Rickenbacker 360 guitar. I bought this last year from a guitar builder on the Chinese website Ali Express, and they did a surprisingly nice job at copying the Rick dimensions. Since I bought it, I have added a very nice nickel-plated trapeze tailpiece, along with reproduction 'cooker' control knobs (which still don't fit perfectly despite my adding shims to the posts). The pickguard is an authentic Rick unit from a 340, which I painted (sadly not very well). The truss rod cover is the unit that came with the guitar, the decal is a repop I bought online. The guitar sounds and plays very well; I run mine through a Vox AC-15, and I can get some nice jangly-esque sounds out of it. No one will ever confuse this for the real thing, but it still sounds nice. The overall build quality is very good, other than a couple of minor flaws in the finish here and there, and the binding around the soundhole isn't great. Also the neck angle isn't perfect, so the bridge sits higher than I would prefer (and is missing two of the nuts for the individual adjusting screws, see picture), but the guitar is perfectly playable from one end of the fretboard to the other, though it could obviously do with a proper set-up. Tuners work well and stay in tune. SHIPPING TO LOWER 48 FOR AN ADDITIONAL $40.00. $275.00 OBO.
