KevinsBikes

Wore out three sets of tires already!
I used some of the extra long nips from Scott, 12 3/32 NOS double butted spokes and an Atherton hub I reconditioned. Still need a good matching patina front hub.

good work.
fun to actually build up a wheel .... not easy
question about the universal tire, never seen one crack like that in the side walls
was it left outside or in the sun?

No clue - bought the tires like this. They are very pliable/flexible still so my guess is just from side bending while very dry. Last pair I had were hard as a rock!

I need the longer nipples like you have. Who is Scott? Those are hard to find. Good grab.
I believe they are sold through the Cabe store on Ebay.
They are also available from 'Cerchio Ghisallo' in Italy, but much more expensive than from Scott, when you factor in shipping costs etc.
I know, I have bought both before.
The only advantage of the Italian version is that they are also available in an aged/patinated finish if you are building that style of bicycle.
Whereas Scott's version come in a quality, plated finish.
